Update

Latest MRI has shown clear improvement with the disc injury, with the spine specialist happy with the progress and handing me back to physio. Still need to be patient and settle the remaining nerve irritation with a gradual rebuild towards running.

I’ve had to accept that I won’t be ready for HYROX or longer distances this year. I’m planning a 10K return before the end of the year, then building through the remaining races in 2027.

Recovery has taken longer than expected (Jinxed myself when I said weeks, not months!), but after two steroid injections, things are now moving in the right direction and I’m hopeful to be back running soon.

Gutted to have had to replace several races from the original plan, but great alternatives have been found and all 10 races will be completed.

The injury is progressing after a disc issue in my lower back. Although unrelated to running, it has frustratingly required time for recovery. I've booked additional races for later this year, giving me more time to return safely and resume the challenge.
